Its founder, Josiah Wedgwood, was called “Father of English Potters”. His first big success –and perhaps his greatest contribution to the British pottery industry- was the production of the first cream-colored earthenware. Later called Queen’s Ware by Royal assent of Queen Charlotte, wife of George III in 1765, this inexpensive earthenware put fine, beautiful tableware within reach of a much wider range of consumers.
Since 1759 Wedgwood produces British style, fine transparent chinaware of great value – even emotional – for the customers. Both traditional designs and modern products have all been made in a perfect, excellent way. The result is always an all time classic product of good taste and high functionality.
